Ever since I have been a runner, I have run in the morning. As a parent, and mostly gainfully employed member of society, it is the only part of the day that I seem to be able to consistently fit in a run. So, when I moved to New York and started to run with my neighbors it was only fitting that I would run in the morning. But when I asked what time they would like to run, I was met with a bit of a surprise.
I asked Tim, whom I had just met at a cocktail party, what time he would like to run and he replied, "5:36".
I said, "I'm good any time between 5:30 and 6:00."
He said, "Good. Then 5:36 it is."
It took me a few minutes to realize what he was saying, but it made sense. 5:30 - 6:00 is the response every runner I know gives for a possible run time in the morning. Tim just took it a step further and made it precise. So was born the 536 Run Club.
Training runs for the CUCB since my last post.
